New Audiobook of The Bear Went over the Mountain
A new audiobook of Donald Yates’ classic genealogy work The Bear Went over the Mountain is being produced by Richard V. Dalke, who narrated A Memoir of Chief Two White Feathers, released earlier this month.
Dalke’s downhome style does perfect justice to the rambling story of several generations of English-Native American Yateses, from colonial Virginia to twentieth-century Florida. The book has been abridged to less than half its length to make it accessible to new “readers.” It has been out of print for over ten years, although available in ebook form through Google Play, Panther’s Lodge and DNA Consultants.
The new audiobook is expected to be released in October.
